Let us toast to a drink

...not so much I enjoy the consumption of alcohol neither is it that I take pleasure in the consequences. It is more or less the momentary state of liberty, breaking free from the responsibilities which we commit ourselves to as a part of a social body. We do it voluntarily yet obligatorily.
I guess the responsibility I was referring to is the responsibility of person on moral guards. I can’t truthfully say I know exactly what that means. Maybe it is the awareness of being watched, the public image that we own to the human race, the courtesy to be selfless, the distinction between ourselves and other animals. Whatever it is, alcohol is a token. Or was a token. It shouldn’t have to be.
